The great wall of Nashik | Daniil Dubov vs Vidit Gujrathi | Tata Steel Masters 2022

In round 3 of the Tata Steel Masters 2022, GM Vidit Gujrathi took on Daniil Dubov. It was a complete clash of styles as Dubov is a very creative player, while Vidit is known for his solidity and positionally correct play. The game lived upto its expectations as Dubov unleashed a new idea out of the opening. Vidit's development was lagging behind as Dubov sacrificed a rook. While everything was on fire, Vidit just calmed himself down (thanks to Blacklotus, maybe!) and found one defensive move after another. He did so for many moves and just when it seemed like Dubov had no way to press further and should accept the draw, the Russian GM blundered! IM Sagar Shah analyzes the complete game in depth.
