This video is an example of another 'type' of weigh station I encountered in South Carolina.

The purpose seemed to me to be a driver and cab check, which based on whatever the officer saw or sensed, may lead to a further, more complete inspection.

I was not weighed that I know of, and I was 'sized up', and my rig was given a good once over from the side steps by the officer.

We were told about these 'types' of check points during orientation, and it was the first I have exeperienced.

The retired state trooper who discussed this with us in orientation said that he would size of the driver, and the 'look' of the inside of the vehicle, and if he 'sensed' something more might be found, he did an inspection.

Realize that as a class A CDL truck driver, the police need ZERO reason to ever pull you over or conduct and inspection, so always be tight with the upkeep of your vehicle, both PTI and in cab cleanliness.
