Listening All Night To The Rain - John Akomfrah and Tarini Malik in conversation

The British Council presents ‘Listening All Night To The Rain' by John Akomfrah at the British Pavilion for the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.

The exhibition runs from 20 April – 24 November, 2024 in Venice.

This video features John Akomfrah in conversation with Tarini Malik, Shane Akeroyd Associate Curator of the British Pavilion 2024, about the making of the exhibition.

Through 'Listening All Night To The Rain', Akomfrah explores the themes that have featured throughout his work over the past four decades and investigates issues of contemporary life: memory; migration; racial injustice; climate change, with a renewed focus on the act of listening.

Visitors can expect an interlocking, multi-media installation that builds as they journey through the pavilion space.
