8th Annual Thabo Mbeki Africa Day Lecture, 26 May 2017

Professor Mahmood Mamdani delivers the 8th annual Thabo Mbeki Africa Day Lecture. The lecture is held at Unisa in Pretoria Friday evening. Originally from Uganda, Mamdani is a lecturer at Columbia University in New York and a Director of the Makerere Institute for Social Research at Makerere University (in Uganda). He holds a PhD from Harvard University and specialises in the study of African History and Politics. He is delivering a lecture under the theme, "Africa and the changing world".

The chairperson of the Thabo Mbeki Leadership Institute, Vusi Gumede says the Lecture will address some of the issues the continent is facing right now such as, terrorism, dictatorship and leadership.
