Kenya Fly In Safaris

The aim of these safaris is to reduce the travel time from one destination to the other and give you more time to do game drive. These are safaris where you fly from the Wilson Airport to the different parks in the country or between parks using light planes or aircraft like Cessna Grand Caravans, the workhorse plane, twin Otters and Dash 7 planes that can take off and land on the short airstrips located in National Parks and game reserves.

Some of the local airline flying to the parks are Fly540, Airkenya Express, Safarilink Aviation, Skyward Express, Silverstone Air. Mombasa Air flies from Mombasa, Ukunda and Malindi airports to Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo and offers a direct flight from Mara to Amboseli and Tsavo West and vice versa. Charter flights also available on request.

For flying safari we offer an option of having our vehicle waiting for you at the arrival airstrip inside the parks to do the transfer on arrival, game drives throughout your stay and transfer back to the airstrip for the flight to your next destination. The advantage of this option is you have private use of the vehicle and drive and you can schedule games as you wish.

The other option is booking on ground package where the camp/lodge you are staying at does the transfers and game drives in camp vehicles. The advantage especially for a single traveler is you share the game drives with other guests making it more fun and enjoyable and a chance to meet new people. The disadvantage is that the game drives are shared and scheduled with morning and afternoon game drive and if you need private safari you must pay extra.

These safaris are little more expensive and not economical for the budget, economy and standard safari. For mid-range safari a flight on 1 leg of safari can be arranged. For luxury safaris this can be a viable option. The transfer to and from Wilson Airport is always included in the cost.
