Sailboat REFIT #5 - TWO of our batteries OVERHEATED. Time for a BATTERY-SWAP! | Sailing MAKANI Ep32

In part 5 of our #sailboatrefit series, we share a SUPER SCARY story with you. Two of our old batteries OVERHEATED during the last months and we really needed to look into this big problem to avoid a situation like that in the future. Time for a #battery-swap!

We manage to buy a one-year-old, powerful (560 Ah) LEAD ACID battery bank from our #sailing friends, who decided to install lithium batteries on their catamaran. This UPGRADE is a dream come true, because it will allow us to stay longer at anchor and run the water maker off the batteries for a longer time without having to start the engine. YEAH! We also upgrade to a new battery CHARGER and MONITOR to get the maximum out of this big sailboat upgrade.
