Hey hey!

This cover was long overdue, yet I can't help but feel so grateful to everyone who took part in this music project of mine, including Daj does VGM on the piano, Zach Frazier on the vocals and Tudd for mixing and mastering. I feel that our efforts have yielded incredible results, so thank you all !

STORY BEHIND THIS PROJECT:

This project all began with me at a Hardline concert a few months back. They're an amazing rock band with great energy and passion; Back in May, just before they performed this song, Johnny Gioeli (who's inspired me as a vocalist) explained how it established this strong bond between him and the keyboardist/back-up vocalist Alessandro Del Vecchio. While their concert got me dancing awkwardly (because I can't dance for shit), the performance of this song struck me deep. I was overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions, not sure where I was in my life with my passion, but seeing this deep friendship between band members, created through a common passion... It was beautiful to witness. And it made me realize what I was missing.

I needed to work with other musicians.

This song brought me to reach out and collaborate with other musicians. It was a deciding moment, that "click" moment in my life, telling me several things.

I had to be relentless about my passion. I had to work hard from here on out and I had to make an extra effort to work with other people, especially since I'm so used to doing things on my own.

So after spending a few hours browsing on YouTube, I came across Daj. Even though his channel was more focused on producing video games music, he was still willing to work on this project with me, and I can't thank him enough for that.

When our parts were done and we had a draft down, I wasn't satisfied with me being the only vocalist on the song, so I reached out to my good friend Zach Frazier. He and I have been friends for years, but I feel that our friendship had blossomed into something special and powerful. Ironically enough, we'd been looking for the right project to work on together and it felt appropriate for us to do this cover together.

And finally, being aware that my skills in mixing and mastering weren't that great, I contacted Tudd, an incredible music producer who has produced fantastic remixes of popular video game songs. While I was working on this song, he and I collaborated with another musician to create the remix to Nintendo Switch's ARMS Title Theme, and that's how I knew who I wanted to mix and master this cover.

As you can see, some of us (myself included) don't have professional recording materials or the technical know-how to deliver quality sound. But honestly, to me, the most important aspects of this project was in small part the skills, but in greater part the heart, the passion, if you will. I think we can all agree that without the latter, music becomes meaningless.

So I want to use the remainder of this description to thank everyone involved in this project. Big thanks to Daj does VGM for agreeing to work on something as laborious and long as this project and producing a standalone track that I'd listen to endlessly; big thanks to Zach who in these difficult times still worked as hard as he could, pouring heart and soul into this song despite his father's passing (a very special thanks to Clifton Frazier Sr. who raised a beautiful, talented son) ; big thanks to Tudd who invested time and energy into mixing this very special, unique song.

And last but never least, a huge thanks to Hardline. We all love this song so much. You have shown us the beauty that comes when working together as a team. Thank you, Johnny, for sharing your deep stories through your powerful voice. Thank you, Alessandro, for writing such a beautiful song that's moved us all. Thank you, Josh, for letting your passion shine as you play those crazy riffs during those concerts! Francesco, thank you for being a wonderful entertainer, getting our bodies moving and our hearts beating to the sound of your drums. And Anna, thank you for transmitting that great energy to us, the audience, with that bass of yours. I really missed seeing you at the Brienzersee but I do hope I get to see you and all Hardline members again. Thank you all for giving an incredible, music-filled, passionate summer. :)
