There are so many songs about romantic relationships, not as many about friendships. Maybe that's because when Randy Newman dropped this absolute banger in 1995, it dissuaded people from the idea as the single greatest testament to friendship had just been written. I have always loved this song, it feels like it planted an early seed of loving swing-style music. I wanted to give it a stride guitar, Western swing sort of feel.
