REDEMPTION 1: AMERICAN EXPRESS
I redeemed 115,000 Amex Membership Rewards points for $1,437.50 of cash back using my Amex Platinum Card Charles Schwab. The cash back went into my Charles Schwab brokerage account, which I can then use to invest or transfer to another checking account or savings account. The primary cards I used to earn these points were the Amex Platinum Card, Amex Gold Card and Amex Blue Business Plus Card.

REDEMPTION 2: CHASE
I redeemed 137,083 Chase Ultimate Rewards points for $1,370.83 of cash back through the Ultimate Rewards portal. The cash back was sent to my Chase checking account. The primary cards I used to earn these points were the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom Flex and Chase Freedom Unlimited.

REDEMPTION 3: BBVA
I redeemed 56,939 BBVA credit card points for $569.39 of cash back. The points were converted to a statement credit on my credit card. The card I used to earn these points was the BBVA Select Credit Card.

REDEMPTION 4: U.S. BANK
I redeemed 10,000 US Bank Altitude points for $100 of cash back. The points were converted to a statement credit on my credit card. The card I used to earn these points was the US Bank Altitude Reserve card.

REDEMPTION 5: DISCOVER
I redeemed $30.31 cash back rewards from my Discover it Cash Back Credit Card as a statement credit.

REDEMPTION 6: AMAZON
I redeemed 2,839 Amazon rewards points for $28.39 of cash back. These points were sent to my Chase checking account. The card I used to earn these points was the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card.

REDEMPTION. 7: CAPITAL ONE
I redeemed $1.71 of cash back rewards from my Capital One Spark Business Cash Select card as a statement credit.

TOTAL POINTS REDEEMED:
321,861

TOTAL CASH BACK EARNED:
$3,538.13

RATIONALE…

The best way to get the most value for your Amex & Chase points is almost always going to be…

1. PREMIUM TRAVEL: Long-haul international flights in premium cabins and staying in luxury hotels
2. STANDARD TRAVEL: Domestic / short-haul international flights and staying in mid-tier to upscale hotels
3. PROMOTIONAL REDEMPTIONS: This includes limited-time offers to redeem your points for certain things at an increased value. Examples include Chase Pay Yourself Back, American Express gift card discounts, etc.

HOWEVER…
- I don’t do premium travel right now
- I’ve got enough points with Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, Southwest Rapid Rewards and American Airlines AAdvantage miles for the next 1-2 years to cover my ‘standard travel.’
- I prefer to not be limited by specific redemption categories

MY #1 GOAL RIGHT NOW IS…
Increase my net worth, and redeeming my points for cash at 1.0¢ each or better fits into that strategy.
