Bennett RR: "How We" Series: Ballast Track

This is the first video in our "How We" series- we won't call it "How To", as it is simply the method we used for this task. Many other methods and options are available. We will show actual hands on work so you can see exactly what we did. Thus the videos may not be cinematic works of art, and may be a bit long and tedious depending on the task!

This video shows how we ballast our track. This task is definitely long, tedious, and boring- and our least favorite thing to do. But it needs to be done, as it greatly improves the look of your model railroad. This segment shows the ballasting of a roughly two (2) foot section of double track. It took about 1.5 hours, and with some editing and video speed increases we got this video down to just over an hour. Whew!
