Elecraft KX1 - So Cool !
Here is a demo of some of the Elecraft KX1 features. Normally used with ear buds, I have it hooked into an external audio amp for this demo. Four bands, ATU, variable IF filter, about 2.5 to 4 Watts output, and receives from 1 MHz to 16.5 MHz CW, LSB,or USB. Designed to be a low current draw portable backpacking rig, all you need is a paddle, ear buds, and a couple hunks of wire. I get about 2 Watts out using the 9 V AA battery pack. An external 12 VDC battery will get about 3 Watts and an external 14 VDC source will make about 4 Watts. Take it anywhere and get on the air. I use it mobile with a Hustler antenna system as just a receiver when going on a trip. Don't let the small size fool you - it is a high performance CW machine.
