Ukrainian origin (Українське походження)

A brief overview of Ukrainian origin and the mutual influences between different cultures and Ukrainian tribes, mediaeval Rusyns-Ukrainians, and Rus'-Ukraine as oldest Slavic country. Today, some studies have shown that outside of Ukraine there are about 32 million people who have Ukrainian ancestry.

Ukrainians show the characteristic R1a genes of the patrilineal descent from a single male at a very high frequency of 41.5-54.0%. Such high frequencies of R1a have been found only in Poland, Slovenia, Russia, and on the Indian subcontinent. Modern researches have proved that all of today's Slavic peoples come from western Ukraine.

Notice: The word "Iranian" has nothing to contemporary Iran, which got its name recently. Iranian tribes, including the Persians, settled in the territory of present Iran has once appeared on the Dnieper, where they may have been autonomous. The word "Iran" to the ancient tribes has a synonym meaning as - "Aryan." But, again, Aryans as ancient Iranians have nothing to do with the value that this word gave the Nazis.
