Stranded Deer Rescue On The Mississippi River

Two deers were stranded on the frozen Mississippi River for two days. A man I run into said he was going to get his water skis and try to rescue them. While he was gone a helicopter flew in and was able to blow one to shore. The helicopter was unable to move the larger deer, so when Todd returned with his skis he went out on the ice and put a ski harness on the deer and two men on shore pulled the deer in.

The deer was unable to stand so the men carried the deer to the wooded side of the road. It was taken to a wildlife shelter for rehab and was released back into the wild when it got stronger.
