THE EFFECT THAT ACTUALLY HURT — Anaconda 2 #shorts

In 2004, during the filming of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, the parasite scene relied on practical effects instead of CGI.

The makeup team used highly detailed silicone prosthetics, attaching them directly to the actor’s skin with strong adhesive to create a realistic look.

While it worked convincingly on screen, removing the prosthetics after long shooting hours caused real discomfort, as the adhesive pulled against the skin.

It’s a clear example of how practical effects can achieve realism—but often come with physical challenges behind the scenes.
