Jason Voorhees, the psychopathic slasher from the Friday the 13th franchise, is one of horror movies’ most memorable maniacs. The killer of Camp Crystal Lake is up there as perhaps Hollywood’s most seminal slasher, and his influence extends far beyond the Friday 13th series. From his original cameo appearance in Friday 13, Jason would grow up to become a terrifying force of deaths and destruction, and as we witnessed the evolution of Jason Voorhees and his trademark Jason hockey mask, we saw the killer of the F13 series earn his place on the Mt. Rushmore of horror film alongside Michael Myers from Halloween and Freddy Krueger. From Friday 13th to the birth of zombie Jason, to Jason Goes to Hell, Freddy vs. Jason, Jason X, and even the ill-fated reboot, this creepy killer has undergone quite the evolution throughout the history of Jason Voorhees. Every one of his Friday the 13th kills, and every Friday the 13th trailer, clip and scene, solidifies this slasher as a force to be reckoned with, then and now and through the years.
