Bolo Fishing for Roach on the River Derwent Yorkshire

This weeks episode sees me heading to the Yorkshire Derwent at Sutton. This deep water river venue averages around 17-19ft in this area and as such I decide to employ the bolognese method trotting for roach with my 6m preston bolo rod.

Deep river float fishing with long rods generally requires big bolo floats and as such I setup with a 5g bolo float. This may seem heavy but it allows for easier casting and greater control than using something lighter.

The River Derwent in Yorkshire can be a hard river to crack but by employing a cautious approach and feeling your way into it, the rewards are there to be had, Watch on to see how I go about getting back to grips with this winter roach fishing venue.
