Similarities Between Tamil and Korean

The similarities found between Korean and Tamil is a subject that many people are unaware of. There are several proposals that have been brought forward to explain the strong connection between the two languages. In fact, a proposed language family called Dravido-Koreanic, or Dravido-Koreo-Japonic, links the living or proto-Dravidian languages to Korean and in some cases to Japanese. In this video, Ellen (Korean speaker) and Visha (Tamil speaker) demonstrate some of the commonalities between the two languages with a list of words and sentences.
As mentioned in the video, be sure to check out Visha’s unique business, Poche posh, which she operates with her friend Jessica: https://www.pocheposh.com/

The Korean language (한국어/韓國語 - 조선말/朝鮮말) is classified as a Koreanic language and considered a language isolate. It is the official and national language of North Korea and South Korea, and also one of the two official languages in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture and Changbai Korean Autonomous County of Jilin province in China. It is also spoken in parts of Sakhalin, Russia, and Central Asia. Modern Korean descends from Middle Korean, which descends from Old Korean, which descends from the Proto-Koreanic language.

The Tamil language (தமிழ்) is classified as a Dravidian language and mainly spoken by the Tamil people of India and Sri Lanka. In addition to India and Sri Lanka, Tamil also has official status in Singapore. In Malaysia, Tamil is used as one of the languages of education along with English, Malay and Mandarin. Aside from Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry, in India, Tamil is also spoken in the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Tamil is considered one of the longest-surviving classical languages in the world.
