Loading Up the Salt Bin For Winter

I have stored salt like this for years. I get my salt right out of the rail cars so its bone dry. Then doing it on a sunny day it stays nice and dry. I feel like its the only way to go. My buddy always used an open top container and had a tarp kit on it. He always had moisture in his. Even with a brand new tarp on it. He might have been able to get another 10-20 tons in it but I don't need the extra storage. If I did id buy another container.

The container is a 40' High Cube.

It holds about 50-55 ton when filled almost to the door. I had about 5-6 ton in the back and loaded a total of 42-44 ton into it.
