Pentacular art of the Battle of Saragarhi

The Saragarhi Society presents a specially commissioned artwork by Rajinder Singh Tattal, the "Pentacular artist".

Depicting the 21 Sikhs at Saragarhi, this special artwork was created to mark the 120th anniversary of the battle in 2017.

The central character is Havildar Ishar Singh, the leader of the 20 soldiers at the small communications post. To his left is the signaller Gurmukh Singh. The jawans were on average 21 years old.

They fought for nearly seven hours against 10,000 enemy tribesmen but did not surrender - the story of their heroism and bravery lives on!
