Animusic 1 DVD Set Construction songs

These are the songs that play on the Animusic 1 DVD when you watch the "Set Construction" videos. Some of the songs are only heard here (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), and some are alternate or shortened versions of songs that can be found elsewhere (1, 6, and 7). All seven of the songs featured in this "video" were written by Wayne Lytle (I'm 99% sure), and I suspect that the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th songs are longer than what we get to hear on the DVD.

Song 1 (all songs are unofficially called "___ ____ Set Construction", making this "Future Retro Set Construction) is actually an early version of "Pogo Sticks", a song and video appearing on Animusic 2, as the second video/song. Animusic 1 first came out in 2001, but these bonus features weren't included until the 2004 re-release. Animusic 2 was released around 2005, I believe. This early/alternate version fades out before the song comes to the part where the xylophone comes in.

Songs 2 (1:47) and 3 (2:57) (seem to go together, but I'm not sure what I would call them. If you think you can come up with a good (descriptive) name, go for it!

Song 4 (3:46) is a drum track, though I won't go so far as to say it's monotonous or simple. It is the longest of the seven, though. That's because the "Drum Machine Set Construction" video takes longer to go through because of all the parts the Drum Machine has. The video of the Drum Machine being assembled has been posted by Animusic on their YouTube profile. You might be able to find it under "Related Videos".

Song 5 (5:42) plays during the set construction video for "Pipe Dream". YouTube user AnimusicLLC (in reality, the actual Animusic company's YouTube channel) has posted this video to their profile. You can check it out if you want - it may even appear under "Related Videos".

Song 6 (7:03) is really just "A Slight Delay", but the DVD won't tell you that. This version plays from the beginning of the piece and fades out when the construction of the Acoustic Curves set is finished. You can hear all of "A Slight Delay" in one of my recent videos, but I reccommend purchasing Animusic's offical CD of the Animusic (1) album, for maximum audio quality (and to support them!).

Song 7 (8:22) is a Bass+Drums version of the ending section of "Harmonic Voltage". Harmonic Voltage was written in 1995, like Future Retro, Stick Figures, Seventh Alloy, A Slight Delay, and The Harvester were. When they made the video of the song in 2001, Wayne Lytle added an extended ending to it. Towards the end of this "set construction" version, synth strings are added to the "radioactive grape juice" "taurus" bass "pedals" and drums. With the strings added, it more closely resembles how the final song sounds.

I share these DVD-exclusive songs with you under Fair Use. Fair Use is defined as using material "for purposes such as criticism, comment [...] or research" and it "is not an infringement of copyright."
