Feedback in Electrical / Electronic Circuits:
In the electrical/ electronic circuits and in control systems, some part of the output signal is feed back to the input side.
Negative Feedback:
In the negative feedback, the feedback signal is subtracted from the source signal. In this type of feedback, the actual input to the circuit or basic amplifier is less than the source signal. Thus output is reduced. Therefore, overall gain is also reduced.
This type of feedback is used in amplifier circuits and control systems to improve the overall stability.

Positive Feedback:
In positive feedback, the feedback signal is added with the source signal. Thus gain is increased. However, positive feedback is rarely used to increase gain. Rather, it is used in oscillators and multivibrator circuits.

Effect of Negative Feedback on the Amplifier:
1) Desensitises the gain
2) Reduces Non-Linear Distortion
3) Reduces the effect of noise / interference
4) Increases the bandwidth
5) Depending on the feedback topology, it modifies the input and output impedance.
6) Reduces the gain of the amplifier

In this video, the general structure of the feedback amplifier is explained and the expression of the closed loop gain of the amplifier is derived. Moreover, the concept of loop gain and its effect on the feedback amplifier is also explained.

At theend of the video, one example is considered fro OP-AMP circuit to show that how negative feedback is used and how gain is modified. Particularly, non-inverting type amplifier gain is calculated using only feedback factor.

This video will be helpful to all the students of science and engineering in understanding the concept of the negative feedback in the amplifiers, and the effect of negative feedback on amplifier.
