Wow, cant believe i finished a wip I made way back in 2018! This project was always near and dear to my heart, its such a perfect song for Bramblestar and how he thinks back on his life with Squirrelflight throughout the many years they had together, I knew eventually I'd HAVE to finish this or else it'd be such a disservice.

I'm not much of a Squirrelflight lover, I actually don't like her that much, she was especially oh so infuriating in her super edition, I'm much more of a Bramblestar fan- but I can appreciate her, and I think this song does her some justice. She truly was a very selfless cat in her time, it's not crazy to me that now after all this time, she finally wants something for herself, which is what i THOUGHT she achieved by having Alderheart and Sparkpelt but I guess that's not enough for her...

Im getting ahead of myself- I mentioned I made this storyboard back in 2018, so the time period of this video is set i guess in Bramblestar's Storm? Basically, the end of the 5th arc/The Last Hope. I truly believed they should've remained broken up, but still close friends. After all they've been through, I can't imagine them ever separated. I'm pretty neutral on the bramblesquirrel ship, but much prefer them just as friends.

Anyway, I think the song's pretty self-explanatory. I love this self-reflection I have Bramblestar going through, that although he had the right to feel hurt, I think in the Reveal scene, he should've been there for Squirrelflight. especially when Squirrelflight's nearly always been there for him, despite the TNP group going their separate ways, his behavior about Squirrelflight getting close to Ashfur, his defense of Hawkfrost, ect. He can still be hurt, but it was never Squirrelflight's fault. I think, as a fandom, we should be a bit less pissed about Brambleclaw's behavior and more understanding of him, and a little more mad at Leafpool. She did drag Squirrelflight down with her! I'm just sayin'! Leafpool's novella is RIGHT there!
I also love at the end when Bramblestar does forgive her, Squirrelflight makes that one jab that I *KNOW* she absolutely would, saying she'd do it all the same over again. No Regrets! And
Bramblestar only chuckles to himself because yup, thats squirrelflight! It stings but he totally deserves that, and loves her anyway.

Sorry, I just have a lot of feelings about Bramblestar, and this video in particular! Hope yall've enjoyed!
