Nestled on the northern coast of Lesvos, the picturesque village of Petra beckons #travelers with its timeless beauty, #historic allure, and sun-kissed beaches. It has a population of 1200 inhabitants and lies 56 km west of #Mytilene, the islands capital, main #port and local #airport, 6 km south of Molyvos and 59 km from #Sigri port that connects #Lavrion port with the western part of #Lesvos.

Petra means stone in Greek and this quaint village, is really characterized by its iconic towering rock and traditional architecture. The #visitors may experience a perfect blend of cultural exploration and seaside #relaxation.

#Panagia Glykofilousa Church:
Dominating the skyline of Petra, the Panagia Glykofilousa Church, or Church of the Virgin Mary, is perched on top of the famous rock.
