Clacton-on-Sea is the largest town in the Tendring peninsula and district in Essex, eastern England. It is a seaside resort that saw a peak of tourists in the summer months between the 1950s and 1970s.

Clacton-on-Sea, the largest town on the Essex Sunshine Coast, is a bustling but affordable seaside resort. It boasts an array of entertainment facilities including a pleasure pier, arcades, the Princes and the West Cliff Theatres, a golf course, seafront walks, water sports and an airfield offering pleasure flights.

An eclectic annual events programme including fetes, fairs, carnivals and the two day annual Clacton Airshow in August will keep you occupied throughout your stay.

Clacton-On-Sea has a pleasure pier, arcades, a golf course, caravan parks and an airfield. The town and its beaches are still popular with tourists in the summer and there is an annual entertainment programme including the Clacton Carnival. With easy links by road, train, coach, ferry and plane and the centre of London only an hour or so away, makes it an easily accessible destination.

The modern day Clacton-on-Sea was founded by Peter Bruff in 1871 as a seaside resort. The pier now offers an amusement arcade and many other forms of entertainment to make it an important tourist attraction in Clacton On Sea 2021.

Famous for its pier, amusements and arcades, Clacton is backed by the promenade and beach huts in Essex.

CLACTON ON SEA BEACH
Clacton has a Blue Flag beach at Martello Bay known as Clacton Beach (two more are locally at Dovercourt Bay & Brightlingsea). Clacton Seafront Gardens which run along the top of the seafront west of Clacton Pier has also been awarded a Green Flag and includes various sections with formal gardens, memorials and places to sit.

Clacton Pier is a pier located in the seaside resort town of Clacton-on-Sea in England. It was named Pier of the Year in 2020 by the National Piers Society.[3] The pier hosts rides, ten-pin bowling, arcades, a seqaurium, golf and a soft-play centre – as well as numerous food, drink and retail outlets

Clacton Pier, which opened on 27 July 1871 was officially the first building erected in the then-new resort of Clacton-on-Sea.

There is lots to do here whether you want to enjoy the arcades, amusements, pier, beach or shops. There are lots of hotels, bed and breakfast or a guesthouse to stay in here.
