Hello, hello, hello!

If there’s one thing this lockdown has taught me, it’s how much money I spend on food. Lockdown meant buying my groceries online which was a very different experience of pushing a trolley around the store and picking up whatever I wanted. I was more aware of how much I was spending on beef.

So there has to be a way to make cheaper cuts taste better. One big problem was never being as tender or juicy as more expensive cuts. Everyone knows A5 Wagyu is good because its tender and fatty. Cheap cuts tend to be leaner and tougher.

If you search online for how to tenderise steak, you get a long list of suggestions, some more practical than others. I chose 4 cooking hacks that seem realistic for most people to do on a regular basis and see if they worked.

Spoiler: Not all of them worked.
