A Look Inside Aretha Franklin's House

Located in Bloomfield Hills, Aretha Franklin’s house on Hamilton Road just south of Seven Mile Road along the Detroit Golf Club was built in 1927 and bought by Franklin in 1993. As soon as she moved in, the diva made plans for large-scale renovations throughout the home, including a luxurious owner’s suite and kitchen facelifts.
The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a heated three-car garage and is called the Rose Estate in reference to Franklin's 1998 album, "A Rose Is Still A Rose."
Franklin hadn't lived at the home for about 10 years before her death.
There are still a couple of Franklin's personal items in the house, including a special headboard and her tub.
The singer’s luxurious home was listed in early 2018 for $800,000 and underwent some renovations before listing, but much of the iconic features such as the signature rose carpet in the main hall remain intact.
Unfortunately, her house was sold to the new owner for only about $300,000.
Though Franklin has not lived in the Rose Estate for over 10 years, the Motown queen’s presence is still felt within its walls, and her legacy continues to live on beyond them.
