Tawi River bridge remains cut off after floods, DPR ready for repair work in Nagrota
Nearly ten months after flash floods destroyed a key bridge over the Tawi River near Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir, residents of Katal Batal continue to struggle with disrupted connectivity. With the structure still unrepaired, villagers are forced to rely on boats for daily movement across the river, affecting access to schools, markets, workplaces and essential services, including the Raja Pad Devta Shrine. The bridge served around 2,000–3,000 people. With the monsoon approaching, fears of prolonged isolation persist. Jammu East MLA Yudvir Sethi said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for reconstruction is ready and expressed hope for early rebuilding.
