Trying TAITO Arcade 1 (Part 1) [Evercade #283]

Finally, TAITO has arrived to Evercade proper! These games have escaped the Super Pocket and are now on cartridge! Let's see how they play with an actual, proper, decent D-Pad!

Space Invaders is...Space Invaders. Yeah. I'm sorry, but I am not a fan of this one. It's a classic. It's historic. I can't deny that. But I don't personally like it still. It's boring and frustrating to me. xD

Chack'n Pop is also frustrating, but in a very different way! Clunky and slow controls combined with limited movement make for a less-than-pleasant experience. I guess I didn't play this one as much on the Pocket as I thought I did. I can see why people would like this game, but this one isn't really my thing.

The Legend of Kage is really fun! Long before I ever played the arcade version, I played the NES version on WiiVC as a kid, and I liked it back then too as well! This is just a nice game, and a pretty unique one at that! :D

So, not exactly the *best* start to this cart, but that's not entirely unexpected due to going by Release year first (and then doing the new games last). I expect Part 2 to go much better, but we still did end on a very high note with Legend of Kage, anyway! :P
