Transmission with Teeth-uncompleted gear #cad #engineering #mechanic #solidworks

This mechanism demonstrates a transmission system using incomplete tooth gears, also known as partial gears or mutilated gears.

Unlike conventional gears with teeth around the full circumference, these gears have sections where teeth are intentionally removed. This allows the mechanism to transmit motion only during specific portions of rotation.

As the driving gear rotates, the toothed section engages the driven gear and transfers torque. When the toothless section arrives, the driven gear stops, creating a precise cycle of motion and dwell.

This type of mechanism is widely used in indexing systems, automated machinery, mechanical timers, and intermittent motion applications.

In this animation, you can clearly observe how the special gear geometry controls the timing of engagement and disengagement.

⚙️ Engineering concepts demonstrated:

• Intermittent motion transmission
• Partial gear engagement
• Motion and dwell mechanism
• Mechanical indexing system
