We are headed for some pretty major sunshine later this week; it’s gonna be 70 this weekend. Unfortunately, the juniper, alder, & poplar trees are also gonna notice this, and if you suffer from pollen allergies, this is the beginning of Kleenex season. Tree pollen right now, grass pollen in May… I’ll just say it now. Gezundheit.

There’s a portion of SW Oregon where light pollution is restricted. It’s called a Dark Sky Sanctuary; it’s one of 19 of these sites across the country, and they’re good places to view meteor showers and stargaze, and as of yesterday, the Oregon Outback is the largest sanctuary in the country. Oregonians… we care about the oddest stuff.

And finally, they’ve been talking about installing tollbooths on the George Abernethy bridge in Oregon City to help pay for the seismic updates, but check this out… the Governor said yesterday that the talks are over. They’re not gonna do it. People didn’t want it; they’re killing it. In other words, you won. I would lost all of my money betting on it, but you won. Congrats!
