16-year-old accused of shooting younger teen in Statesville
A 16-year-old was arrested after a 13-year-old was shot in Statesville Tuesday night, police said.
The incident happened a few minutes before 10 p.m. on Crescent Lane, which is just off U.S. 70 East near the Highland Acres Church of Christ. When officers arrived, they found a 13-year-old who had been shot in the abdomen, according to Statesville Police. The victim was taken to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for treatment.
