Fearghal McKinney – Head of BHF Northern Ireland hosts this edition and puts viewer questions to our expert panel.
Regina Giblin – BHF Senior Cardiac Nurse gives a general overview of recovery after heart surgery and what to expect from it, as well as offering helpful tips and resources.
Stuart Waters – Heart surgery patient talks about his physical and mental recovery after undergoing a quintuple heart bypass operation and the ways cardiac rehabilitation helped his recovery journey, and how the overall experience has impacted his family.
Yianna Theodorou – BHF Senior Research Engagement Officer helps to navigate through Stuart’s story.
Professor Sally Singh – BHF-funded researcher at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust discusses the importance of cardiac rehabilitation and her work to encourage more heart failure patients to take up the exercise programme, which could help reduce hospital readmissions across the UK.
Hannah Waterhouse – BHF-funded Research Fellow at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust discusses her work into finding ways to increase the uptake of cardiac rehabilitation for people living with long-term heart failure.
