ColombiaModa (https://colombiamoda.inexmoda.org.co/es/) is “Colombia Fashion Week” that seeks to make Colombia visible in the international fashion industry. It is one of the most important scenarios in Latin America. During this week the most important designers, models and merchants of the fashion industry meet in Medellín (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medell%C3%ADn) to celebrate and learn about its development in Colombia and the world. In 2019, the 30th edition of ColombiaModa was held under the direction of Inexmoda (https://www.inexmoda.org.co), a company dedicated to promoting the Colombian fashion industry.
Workshops, conferences and catwalks open to the general public are held in ColombiaModa, so that all people can know the potential of Colombian fashion.
It is also a space for entrepreneurs to publicize their brands and interact with potential customers. This year 540 brands attended, among them Miguemo (https://www.instagram.com/mi.guemo/?hl=fr), and 25 catwalks were made. The products that are sold the most during ColombiaModa are swimsuits, underwear, denim and sportswear.
The textile industry in Colombia (https://www.inviertaencolombia.com.co/zonas-francas-y-otros-incentivos/zonas-francas-permanentes/124-sectores/manufacturas/textil-y-confeccion/569-descripcion-del-sector.html) has an excellent position in the region for its quality, workmanship and exclusive designs. Exports of the fashion industry registered in 2017 a value of US $ 921 million. In Colombia there are more than 1,333 exporting companies reaching 107 countries of the world. This shows the quality and remarkable development that this sector has had within the Colombian economy.
