34067 'Tangmere' Back On Home Grounds - Medway Valley Pullman - 26/11/22

After a gap of 15 years, the sight of an original Bulleid at the head of the Pullmans was seen once again, as Battle of Britain No.34067 'Tangmere' took charge of UK Railtours Medway Valley Pullman.
Not only would this be the first railtour in the South since the locomotive's overhaul, it would be the first steam tour to run over the Medway Valley route in 20 years.

The tour running from London Victoria to Rochester and return would see the light pacifics return to its old stamping grounds on the eastern division of the southern.

In this short film we pick up the action just after Redhill at Nutfield, as the light pacific takes the full load on the Tonbridge line.

Running down the Maidstone line, Tangmere's whistle echoes in the Valley as it meanders alongside the river Medway at Teston.

Finally, in the fading light, Tangmere heads back to London at Sole Street, having topped the long 1in100 from Rochester.
