The Best Travel Photos Take a Bit of Pain

Travel photography is almost always a beautiful thing. But, making the best travel photos sometimes take a little bit more pain. You have to work for the best images.

It's easy to look at travel photos and thing that they're beautiful moments taken in beautiful places. And the truth is, most of the time that's true. But one of the big differences between a good photo and a better photo is often just a little bit of struggle. In Alentejo this week, it was nearly 40 degrees, and I went trotting off through some cactus trying to find a photo. It was painful, but in the end I got the best travel photos I think I could make in that afternoon.
