Sam Darnold's New Best Friend – Carolina Panthers Game Tape Breakdown by Kurt Warner

Alright everybody, welcome back to StudyBall and we are going to finish up the NFC South with the Carolina Panthers today. I believe I got my audio fixed. I appreciate you guys hanging with me as I am working with some of those issues; definitely not an expert in that area, but I try to be an expert in the football area so hopefully that carries you through. Talking about the Carolina Panthers. A lot of changes there in Carolina offensively but of course, the biggest one we are going to be talking about is the quarterback position with Teddy Bridgewater out...Sam Darnold in. Now everyone wants to see: “Who is Sam Darnold?” Did he get a fair shake in New York? I am not sure if he did or not, but we definitely can say when you look at the Carolina Panthers offense: the cupboard is NOT bare. This is going to be a great opportunity for Sam Darnold to show who he is. For us to see who he is as an NFL quarterback and we know this offense is all built around Christian McCaffrey. He wasn’t on the field for this football team last year but he is a true dual threat for these guys. We know he can run the ball well, but where he is a difference maker is what he does out of the backfield.
McCaffrey is where this offense is going to start and end, assuming he can stay healthy and on the field. He is going to be the best friend of Sam Darnold. Yes in the running game, taking the pressure off his shoulders but more importantly in the passing game. What this guy can do in the pass game, easy completions. You see all of those plays, there is a lot of space around Christian McCaffrey. He has got the ability to make easy plays for the quarterback, easy completions when you’re in a bind. Get it to that guy that can do some damage from there. But it doesn’t stop with CMC, he is not the only weapon they have. They got two receivers, they lost one in Curtis Samuel, but still two really big play receivers on the outside.
