The DANGEROUS Mistakes Dog Owners Make

Let's talk about socializing your puppy-𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑦. 🐶

A lot of well-meaning dog owners think socializing means throwing their pup into chaotic puppy playgroups or bringing them to every dog-friendly hangout spot. I get it, the intention's good, but that's not what proper socialization is about.

Proper puppy socialization is less about meeting every dog in sight and more about preparing your pup for the real world.

It's about exposing them to different environments, people, sounds, and situations in a positive way so they grow up calm and confident.

-Taking your pup to crazy play sessions where they learn bad habits or get overwhelmed
-Letting strangers pet them even when they're clearly nervous
-Exposing them to rowdy or poorly behaved dogs

-𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐠. Walk your pup alongside a calm, well-behaved dog. They'll learn by watching how the older dog interacts with the world.
-𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. Play with your puppy, practice recall, and reward them for focusing on you. Build that bond!
-𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬. Vacuums, doorbells, pots clanging-it's all good practice.
-𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐬. Ask visitors to follow your rules. Let your puppy set the pace, and never force interactions.
