It was TikTok's CEO versus lawmakers, who are more than skeptical about the seemingly harmless social media app. Before the congressional hearing, TikTok executive Shou Zi Chew was optimistic, and excited about testifying about the platform he is passionate about - but U.S. representatives quickly came in hot with very serious allegations about the app being harmful to children - and concerns about how a user's data is used.
