Blackout was Call of Duty's first official entry into the Battle Royale genre on mainline titles. In the past we had seen small scale stuff in COD Online in the Asian markets and a never released small scale battle royale game mode that was tested in Call of Duty: WWII, but we ended up getting our first full gameplay entry in Black Ops 4. I often think though: What if Blackout had gotten the support and upkeep that Warzone did? How differently would our last few years have looked if Black Ops 4 was released after Modern Warfare 2019? Today I wanted to take a look back down memory lane at some of Blackout's offering and take a look at what could have been perhaps if it was supported more than one year.
