This video shows how to override the warning light, although by following my instruction you will lose that information if the boot is actually open (just think back to when cars didn't tell you this info in the first place and you had to have some kind of clue as to the way the car was behaving). In the video I failed to mention the effect on the boot light ie it won't come on, therefore with my instruction you can think of as a 'free workaround', whereas to make good you'll need to buy a new boot catch as the microswitch which is the cause of the issue cannot readily be replaced.
