United Airlines Flight 2380 - Boeing 777-300ER - San Francisco » Honolulu

Welcome to another flight review! This time onboard United Airlines Flight 2380 to Honolulu from San Francisco.

I am flying on a Boeing 777-300ER which has the new POLARIS Business Class that United offers for its international routes and sometimes, some of its domestic routes. Even better, this particular aircraft, N2251U, has the New United Livery!

Usually, United does not deploy 777-300ERs on their domestic routes. This is quite special considering that Honolulu is a domestic route from San Francisco.

Normally, flights to Honolulu are commonly flown by the Boeing 737 MAX 9, Boeing 757-300 and Boeing 777-200/200ER for United.

The Boeing 737 MAX 9 and the Boeing 757-300 are still flying to Honolulu. However, United temporarily grounded 24 Boeing 777-200/200ERs which use the PW4000 engines, after engine failures on United Flight 328 (Houston to Honolulu operated by N772UA in 2021) and Flight 1175 (San Francisco to Honolulu operated by N773UA in 2018)

Replacement aircraft have been deployed on routes that heavily depend on the 777-200/200ER routes

United’s 777-300ER are relatively new aircraft, so all are equipped with the new United Polaris Class, which is United’s “First Class”, but it really is a business class product.

The United 777-300ER offers Polaris, Economy Plus and Economy. The price for Polaris was actually reasonable, since we were paying off of domestic business class charges, but were offered a international business class product since we were flying the 777-300ER.
Definitely worth the money!

I was seated in 12A at the front of the aircraft. However I recommend seating in odd numbers as you have more privacy and your seat is closer to the window.
