‘Live’ at gunpoint

INTENSE! On the morning of June 28th, 2018, I was doing my usual traffic reporting, when I saw some unusual police activity along I-5 near Portland’s ICE headquarters. With a 12 day ICE protest going on, I jetted over there to see a lot of cops in riot gear, getting set to ‘evict’ the protesters who set up camp on federal property. I got set up and started doing reports for the morning news when I noticed this guy in his black car acting weird, waving around what I thought was a stick (ended up being an Airsoft gun). He pulled up to the intersection, where police confronted him. He wasn’t complying, guns were drawn... all within a few feet of me. I happened to be on the business end of law enforcement’s firearms. It all played out on ‘live’ TV. This video is me reporting as it happened. That escalated quickly! Never a dull moment in this job...
