"Water No Get Enemy" by FELA KUTI, performed by Imoleayo Balogun for FELABRATION 2020.

Musical education played a major role in my musical career and performances but listening and scoring works of some selected African composers and legends helped me in a big way to evolve and metamorphose over the years.

One of the composers I respects a lot in Africa is the late Afrobeats icon "Fela Anikulapo Kuti" (15 October 1938 – 2 August 1997) who was known as political activist and Pan-Africanist. He used his music as a weapon of fighting corruptions, bad leaderships, bad governance etc.

''Water No Get Enemy" was known as one his popular compositions in which he sang with two different languages ( Yoruba and Pigin ) and was able to depict his intention of him being the "WATER" and doesn't have any enemy. I decided to perform the instrumental version of this music in this year's "FELABRATION 2020" in honor of the Afrobeats Icon and a composer per excellence.
