Usually I make videos about personal finance, investing for beginners, dividends, passive income, and other stock market related videos but today I wanted to share my next big investment. If you can keep an open mind while watching this video I promise you’ll get something out of it. Please remember this is just my opinion, this video is not investment advice, I’m just sharing what I’m doing with my money, I’m not saying you should do the same. So here's what happened: I wired nearly $50,000 into Gemini, and I converted over $37,000 of USDC - into BTC.

At the time of making this video this investment is sitting at roughly $200,000. It’s made up of 7.5 BTC, and about 120 ETH. In addition to that I have roughly $10,000 in my Gemini account where I have set for it to invest that money at $2,000 a day.

If you’ve been living under a rock, you might have missed out on this new revolutionary thing called Bitcoin. The technical definition of it is it’s a "peer to peer digital currency that is decentralized and immutable". In lay person's terms, anyone can see where this money is being sent because we can send this money to each other across the world, any time we want, and no bank or government can stop us from doing business. It's a money that is not controlled or owned by anyone because it’s decentralized. Each transaction is publicly available for all to see and every person can access these transactions to see where it's being sent and how it’s being spent. Here's where I think it’s going over the next year.

There is a max 21 million supply of BTC and in the US there is around 112 trillion dollars in terms of household wealth. If we assume 1% of the US population is interested in investing, that’s around 1.2 trillion dollars. If we divide this hypothetical 1% demand by the max supply - we get a rough price of $57,142 per coin. If we get 2% of the population interested in investing the price doubles to $114,284 a coin. There are 46.8 millionaires in this world, there will only be 21 million bitcoin in existence. That means less than half of all the millionaires in the world will ever own an entire bitcoin.

If we apply this math to not just the US population but let’s say the entire world and assume that just 1% of the world is interested - things get really interesting. The Global Wealth Report shows us that household wealth has reached 400 trillion and 1% to 2% of this wealth is 4 to 8 trillion dollars. Putting the same math to work we get each coin valued between $190k to $380k.

In addition to this, PayPal recently announced it was going to start accepting the use of digital currencies. Fidelity finally made their own Bitcoin ETF for wealthy people which signals the start of what I think will be a competition amongst other brokers to roll out more accessible ETFs. Square which is owned by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey has invested in Bitcoin and bought $50 million dollars worth, MicroStrategy bought $425 million, and finally Grayscale Bitcoin Trust which represents institutional type of accredited investors owns 449,596 Bitcoins valued at roughly $8 billion dollars. On top of that, Stanley Druckenmiller who is a very wealthy hedge fund manager revealed that he now also owns Bitcoin, Mexico’s second richest man, billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego revealed he holds 10% of his net worth in Bitcoin, and even Ray Dalio is no longer sure of his skepticism.

An analyst from none other than Citibank predicted BTC could go to $318,000 by December 2021 and published an entire research paper explaining his case (to be fair though he also predicted the price of gold at this point would be over double what it’s at and he was wrong). But the point is, more people are starting to talk about it, corporations are buying into it, hedge fund managers are making it a staple part of their portfolios, new investments are starting to be created. Exciting times!
