gold prospecting cache creek episode 1

took a trip up to fairplay to do some digging for the gold, didnt find but one piece of micro fine gold flake after digging for about an hour and a half, so we packed up headed out drove by the hoffmen dig site from the tv show gold rush (big fan) flipped a quarter to see where to head up to next, heads being twin lake's and tail's being cache creek, so we headed north west, man i sure am glad we went there, probably the best time to go to there was so much gold in the tree's it was so beautiful.
Cache Creek, little more than a bump in the road, was once one of the largest placer gold mining operations in the state. Located west of the town of Granite Colorado, in Northern Chaffee County, Cache Creek operated from 1860 to 1911. It became the first settlement of note in the upper Arkansas Valley.
