Tyler and I head out for opening of Grouper Season in Islamorada May 2021 and found some Big Blacks on the reef. Spear Fishing in the Florida Keys is always a blast but this afternoon was extra special.

We went out to the reef and found some nice Big Black Grouper in shallow water. This video was filmed in Islamorada, Florida Keys. I'll talk a little about how to make sure you are staying legal while spearfishing as well as how to identify good areas to spearfish including coral heads and structure on bottom. Strikelines makes a great product at half the price of CMOR Mapping and i have both cards and compared them side by side. The strikelines map is actually better for the areas we focus on while in South Florida. It works with Simrad Lowrance and Hummingbird if I am not mistaken. The best advice I can give you on locating good Spearfishing spots is to get Strikelines 3D mapping for your unit. It’s cheaper than CMOR MAPPING and just as good down in the keys for locating the relief. Follow the links below to purchase the chip for your unit. They do not work with Garmin.
