Collective numbers
You may have heard Russians using special words for 2, 3, and 4: двое детей, трое рабочих, четверо мужчин. These are collectives, and they're pretty common, but are used only in specific situations. In this short video we'll look at when to use a collective, and when to use a regular (cardinal) number. You'll also hear a few tips on how and when to use the different forms of the collectives to say things like "with two kids" ... The good news is: you may already know all the endings you need!
For a review of using the basic cardinal numbers два/три/четыре, be sure to watch https://youtu.be/s_DvAW8Krk4 and https://youtu.be/rUYzNgGy_HU.
Note: this is a new version with a minor fix to a video uploaded earlier on 4/8/21.
