THE DEATH OF VALENTINO: Vernon Dalhart ~ There's A New Star in Heaven Tonight (1926)

Recorded for Columbia on August 27, 1926, only four days after the death of Silent Film icon Rudolph Valentino. A week later on September 2, 1926 Dalhart recorded the same title for Victor. The tribute to Valentino was again either recorded by Dalhart, and/or the masters from Columbia distributed to other labels, including Romeo, Banner, Domino, perhaps (likely?) many more.
