New Identity in Christ

STORYTIME!!!!!

Yall I was driving in my car crying out to God. Sobbing. Worshiping. And I asked God what am I supposed to be doing in this very trying time in my life. I pulled over on a side street and as I was crying I heard a very small voice, almost like a whisper say, “Take your nose ring out.” The voice was soooo small and still and unassuming that I thought I heard wrong. Then a motion image flashed before my eyes- a hook being forced into a persons nose and them being drug along as a slave. After getting home I looked up this image because I had just recently studied Kings and Chronicles so I knew it was regarding King Manasseh.

Manasseh and I are both great examples of what will make you laugh will make you cry. I pierced my nose to exert my identity, to flaunt my status. And I removed that thing to exert my identity in Christ and to happily declare my status as a new creature. Once in bondage to money, status, fame, recognition, accolades, now all I want is Jesus! Choose to be a new creature in Christ today. My story includes a nose ring. What does your include?

2 Chronicles 33:11, NIV: So the LORD brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.

Ezekiel 16: 11-13
I adorned you with jewelry, and I put bracelets on your wrists and a chain around your neck. 12I put a ring in your nose, earrings on your ears, and a beautiful crown upon your head.
