The Lycian Way - Hiking and Backpacking Turkey Ep. 5

Day three on the Lycian Way was a hike with a very sore hip, a steep decline and a lot of heat. I missed a turn and ended up in the wrong village. A 74 year old man came to the rescue and he brought me to beautiful quirky Sidyma. Definitely a place to go out of your way to see.
At Sidyma House I have had the best food so far. A true heaven for tired travelers.

The Lycian Way is a 540 km long thru hike. It is a way-marked footpath that takes zbout 29-day's to complete. It winds along the south coast of Turkey It starts at Ölüdeniz by Fethiye and goes to Antalya. The old trail is a combination of Roman roads, old footpaths and mule trails. It was researched, designed and waymarked by Kate Clow in 1999. The Lycian Way is Turkey’s first long-distance walking trail.
